A Few Winery Touring Tips
If you are planning on visiting wine country this summer, here are some tips to help with your planning.

  • Always check ahead for winery hours, special events and availability of tours.
  • Plan on visiting three or four wineries in a day, at most. Include large, state-of-the-art wineries and intimate cottage wineries in your itinerary.
  • Don't taste on an empty stomach and remember – spitting is allowed (there are receptacles for that purpose)!.
  • Don't wear scents or chew gum. You will hamper your ability to appreciate the smell and taste of the wine.
  • Bring a cooler to safely transport wines home, or, better still, have them shipped.
