Dining Out — Be sure to visit one of the 120 restaurants that received the VQA Restaurant Award of Excellence. These restaurants are recognized for their impressive wine lists, which feature Ontario VQA wines.

From Wine Country to Cottage Country, be sure to bring Ontario wines with you to truly enjoy the wonderful flavours our beautiful province produces. Every weekend during the summer, Konzelmann's Chef Darren Stoute cooks up delicious fare and brings wine to life. Here is one of his favorites.

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms & Tomato Greek Salad
With Konzelmann 2006 VQA Chardonnay Unoaked

Portobello Mushrooms
3 tomatoes
½ red onion
½ cucumber
3 springs of fresh oregano
6 cloves garlic 		½ oz Olive oil
1 tbl Butter
Crumbled Feta cheese
¼ cup Balsamic
Salt & white pepper

  1. Cut the tomatoes into cubes
  2. Dice the red onions & cucumber
  3. Finely chop the oregano
  4. Mince the garlic.
  5. Combine above ingredients, add olive oil and salt & white pepper to taste
  6. Season the Portobello mushrooms with salt & peppers then grill on mid-low, gill side up, Cook for 5-7 minutes on the grill do not over cook!
  7. In a separate small sauce pan reduce the balsamic vinegar until thick, stir in butter until melted.
  8. Plate tomato mixture on plate, add Portobello topped with the Balsamic reduction over the mushrooms then garnish with crumbled Feta cheese
Pairs well on a warm summer evening with a chilled glass of Konzelmann Chardonnay VQA, 200535, $12.50. Enjoy with good friends!
