| Wine Country comes to Ottawa for Winterlude | ||

Take advantage of a new and exciting addition to this year's Ottawa Winterlude. For the first time, consumers will be able to enjoy an exclusive tasting of VQA wines, including internationally acclaimed Icewine, as part of the "Taste of Winterlude" portion of the festival.
The Wine Council of Ontario, in partnership with member wineries from Niagara Peninsula, Lake Erie North Shore, Pelee Island and Prince Edward County, will be hosting the wine tastings featuring more than 100 VQA wine selections from more than 20 wineries. During the event, you will have the chance to meet winemakers and principals, discover more about Ontario's best varietals during interactive seminars and also have the opportunity to win trips to Ontario's beautiful wine regions. |

| Buy Local Share Local | ||
| Thank you to everyone who purchased Ontario VQA wine during the past month. Through your purchases at LCBO stores, Ontario's vintners were able to give back to local communities by meeting their target of raising $50,000 for the Ontario Association of Food Banks. During the month of December, local wineries donated 25 cents per bottle of VQA wine sold to support a "Buy Local Share Local" campaign. The funds will be distributed to food banks across the province. In addition, wineries topped off that amount with a further donation of $3,000 raised from tasting bar sales at their wineries. |
